What is BOTOX ® Cosmetic?

BOTOX is a purified protein that has been used for more than 30 years to safely treat a variety of medical conditions. It is one of the most widely researched medicines in the world. In 2002, BOTOX Cosmetic was approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) specifically for cosmetic use. Since that time, BOTOX has fast grown to become the #1 non-surgical cosmetic treatment in the U.S. and in the world with more than 7 million BOTOX procedures performed annually in the U.S. in 2017.

Frequently Asked Questions

How does BOTOX work?

During treatment, very low doses of BOTOX are administered via a few tiny injections directly into the muscles responsible for causing wrinkles. BOTOX enables the muscles to relax, resulting in noticeable wrinkle reduction. The effects are very localized and, when administered by one of our experienced clinicians, will look and feel natural.

Where can I use BOTOX?

BOTOX can be used to treat frown lines between the brows (also called “elevens”), forehead lines, crow’s feet, and even smoker’s lines on the upper lip. BOTOX can even be used to produce a beautiful, natural-looking brow lift.

How long is a BOTOX treatment?

If you are a new client, expect to be here for at least half an hour. We will review your medical history, go over the procedure, expectations and answer any questions you may have. Follow-up treatments (if needed) should take approximately 15 minutes.

How long will the results last?

Results generally last 3-4 months. Typically you should see results develop over two to ten days post treatment. By the end of month 3 or 4, you will probably be ready for another treatment.

What are the possible side effects?

Although side effects from BOTOX in Clearwater, FL, are extremely rare, temporary eyelid droop and nausea may occur in a small number of patients . Localized pain, inflammation, tenderness, swelling, redness, and/or bleeding/bruising may be associated with the injection. Patients with certain neuromuscular disorders such as ALS, myasthenia gravis, or Lambert-Eaton syndrome may be at increased risk of serious side effects.
