Possible Side Effects
When booking your Coolsculpting treatment, please keep in mind the possibility of redness, swelling, numbness, and bruising in the treatment area.Â
Avoid Direct Sun
Avoid direct sun on the treatment area 5 days before the treatment to ensure that the area is not sunburned at the time of treatment.
See Results
Anticipate 8-12 weeks after your final CoolSculpting treatment to see complete results. Multiple treatments are often required to achieve desired results.Â
Wear Comfortable Clothes
Please wear loose, comfortable clothing to your appointment.
Bring Entertainment
You may bring a laptop/iPad, phone, reading materials to occupy you during your treatment. We also have a TV with Netflix available in the room for your use.
Side Effects
Normal side effects post treatment can include numbness, tingling, sensitivity, swelling, and redness in the treatment area. These side effects usually resolve completely within 1-2 weeks.
Massage Bumps
Occasionally, patients will experience hard lumps or bumps in and around the area treated. These side effects are still normal and may take up to 3-4 weeks to resolve. If you encounter hardness, lumps, or bumps in the area treated, you may gently massage the area to help them resolve more quickly.
Medications
Although you will likely not need it, Acetaminophen/Tylenol may be taken if needed to relieve any discomfort post treatment. However, NSAIDS and anti-inflammatories should not be used for 1-week post treatment to ensure optimal healing/results.
Schedule Follow-Ups
Please schedule your next Coolsculpting treatment 45 days after your previous treatment for Abs, Hips, Bra-Fat, Mid-Back, and Chin: and 90 days after your previous treatment for Arms, Inner Thighs and Outer Thighs.

What is Dual CoolSculpting® (or “DualSculpting”)?
DualSculpting refers to the use of two CoolSculpting® systems at the same time. DualSculpting makes it possible to perform multiple areas in half the time, reducing treatment times significantly.
DualSculpting utilizes two applicators at the same time so that two areas can be treated at once. This significantly reduces the amount of time it takes to get a CoolSculpting® fat treatment – DualSculpting can literally cut treatment time in half!
How Does CoolSculpting® Work?
Developed by Harvard scientists and FDA-cleared for fat reduction, CoolSculpting® offers a safe, non-invasive method of eliminating fat. Without ever breaking the skin, the CoolSculpting® ELITE system delivers controlled cooling to target specific fat cells below the skin’s surface. The process, called cryolipolysis, involves the cooling of fat cells by the CoolSculpting® applicator, which causes the cells to crystalize. The surrounding tissues are not affected. During the weeks following the CoolSculpting® ELITE treatment, damaged fat cells are naturally eliminated by the body as results reach maximum visibility.

When Will I See Results and How Many Treatments Will I Need?
Because the frozen fat cells are naturally eliminated from the body, your CoolSculpting® ELITE results will occur over time, improving week by week. Many patients will start to notice improvement within 2-3 weeks of the treatment, however, maximum results are typically seen in approximately 12 weeks. Often, a single CoolSculpting® ELITE treatment on an area is all that is needed to make a noticeable difference there. However, some patients will opt to get another treatment in that same area when additional reduction is desired. The additional treatment is usually applied to the area 60-90 days after the previous treatment. It is estimated that 20-25% of the fat in the treatment area is eliminated each time a treatment is performed, and CoolSculpting® can be safely repeated on the same body area until desired results are achieved.
Does a Dual CoolSculpting® Treatment Hurt, and is there any Downtime?
During the fat freezing procedure, the CoolSculpting® applicators are attached to the targeted areas, and you will feel some suction followed by intense coldness, which subsides as the treatment gets underway. For the remainder of your treatment time, you can just lie back and relax as your unwanted fat gets chilled. Most patients spend the time reading a book, checking email, or just meditating.
A typical CoolSculpting® procedure lasts one to three hours depending on the number of areas being treated. Following treatment, you may have minor bruising, tenderness, or numbness at the site of the treated areas, but that is temporary and should be gone within a week. There is no downtime, and you can return to work and work out the same day.

At Radiance Medspa, our Advanced Registered Nurse Practitioners (ARNPs) perform the CoolSculpting® ELITE procedure. They are all trained and certified by Zeltiq to perform the treatment and will ensure that you have a comfortable, safe, and effective procedure.
Is the CoolSculpting® Procedure Safe?
Developed by Harvard Scientists, CoolSculpting® ELITE was FDA cleared in 2010 and has been used in more than 1.5 million treatments around the globe since that date. The process by which the CoolSculpting® system freezes fat cells ensures that no other tissues or structures in the treatment area are damaged. Only the fat cells are damaged, then they are naturally eliminated over time by means of the body’s natural waste removal processes. Other than the possibility of some local and temporary tenderness, sensitivity, swelling, and/or numbness, which occur in a small percentage of patients, there are no other expected side effects, long or short-term from the procedure.
How Much Does Dual CoolSculpting® Cost?
The cost of a CoolSculpting® ELITE treatment depends on which and how many areas of the body you would like to treat. Typical pricing is $900 per applicator/area with package discounts for multiple area treatments.
